Clara Lara Fun Park logo

Clara Lara Fun Park

Theme & Water Parks

An outdoor activity park in the Vale of Clara near Rathdrum, County Wicklow, deliberately built around unplugged, physical play rather than screens or arcade games. The main draws are water-based: the Aqua Shuttle slide, stable Amphicat canoes for paddling the lake, and Rowing Boats that stop at a small island. On dry land there are Go-Karts on a dedicated track, plus a range of activities included in general admission (with radio-controlled boats as a paid extra at EUR2). The park is aimed squarely at younger families - large groups of children over 13, such as summer camps, aren't admitted, though older siblings are welcome alongside younger children. Some attractions carry height restrictions. Clara Lara only opens for the warmer months, typically running through the school holidays into late August, and closes on a handful of dates even within season. Group rates apply in June and July only, with one free accompanying adult per ten children. Dogs aren't permitted anywhere on site except registered guide dogs. It's a rustic, woodland-and-river setting rather than a built-up theme park, which is very much the point.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday · Seasonal - open daily roughly 10:30am-5:45pm through the summer season (typically into late August), with some dates closed even in season. Closed outside the main season. · EUR 27

Marine Life Bray logo

Marine Life Bray

Nature & Animals

Marine Life Bray sits right on the seafront at Bray, County Wicklow, and is currently the only public aquarium on Ireland's east coast. Reopened with a full redesign, it introduces visitors to native and international marine species side by side, from graceful cownose rays and sleek blacktip sharks to colourful clownfish, a sturgeon and even an axolotl. Beyond the fish tanks, an exotic creatures section adds butterflies, tarantulas and other reptiles and creepy-crawlies for kids who want a bit of everything on one visit. The relaunch created around 20 new jobs in marine care and guest experience, and the team places a strong emphasis on education and marine conservation throughout the exhibits. It's a compact, easy visit for younger children, walkable from Bray's promenade and DART station, and the venue also runs birthday parties and group bookings for schools and clubs. Because time slots can fill up, the aquarium recommends booking online at least an hour ahead rather than turning up on spec. It's a straightforward, family-friendly way to spend an hour or two by the sea without leaving Wicklow.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday · Open Monday to Sunday, 10am-6pm, with last entry at 5:15pm. Tickets should be purchased at least 1 hour in advance to guarantee a time slot. · EUR 11.5
