Marine Life Bray
About Marine Life Bray
Marine Life Bray sits right on the seafront at Bray, County Wicklow, and is currently the only public aquarium on Ireland's east coast. Reopened with a full redesign, it introduces visitors to native and international marine species side by side, from graceful cownose rays and sleek blacktip sharks to colourful clownfish, a sturgeon and even an axolotl. Beyond the fish tanks, an exotic creatures section adds butterflies, tarantulas and other reptiles and creepy-crawlies for kids who want a bit of everything on one visit. The relaunch created around 20 new jobs in marine care and guest experience, and the team places a strong emphasis on education and marine conservation throughout the exhibits. It's a compact, easy visit for younger children, walkable from Bray's promenade and DART station, and the venue also runs birthday parties and group bookings for schools and clubs. Because time slots can fill up, the aquarium recommends booking online at least an hour ahead rather than turning up on spec. It's a straightforward, family-friendly way to spend an hour or two by the sea without leaving Wicklow.
