Airfield Estate is Dublin's only working urban farm open to the public, tucked away in Dundrum just a short drive from the city centre. Across roughly 38 acres, families can meet cows, sheep, pigs, goats and chickens on the working farm, join the daily animal feeding walk, and explore productive vegetable gardens and orchards that supply the estate's own kitchens. Younger children can burn off energy on the indoor and outdoor playgrounds, a zipwire, and a dedicated fairy hill, while older kids enjoy the network of paths winding through parkland and formal gardens surrounding the restored Overend family home. On-site dining ranges from casual snacks at the Stables Cafe to a full sit-down meal at Overends Kitchen, and there's a small shop plus a Friday-Saturday farmer's market for picking up local produce. The site is designed to be buggy- and wheelchair-friendly, with accessible toilets, baby-changing facilities, shaded picnic spots and staff trained to support visitors with additional needs.
