Marlay Park Putting Green
About Marlay Park Putting Green
The Marlay Putting Green is a free, family-focused golf amenity in the centre of Marlay Park in Rathfarnham, beside the boules area and tennis courts. Designed with input from three-time major champion Padraig Harrington and inspired by the Himalayas putting green at St Andrews, it is an undulating 3,000 square metre putting course, about six times the size of an average green, with fun hole positions for all ages and abilities. There is no charge to play: check in at the trailer beside the green, where putters and golf balls can be borrowed. Numbers on the green are limited to protect the surface (up to 200 players at weekends), so expect a short wait at busy times. Children under 12 must be with an adult, and heels or studded footwear are not allowed. Opening days change with the season: Friday to Sunday from November to March, Thursday to Sunday in April, May, September and October, and Wednesday to Monday in June, July and August. The green can close at short notice for weather or maintenance, and Marlay Park itself closes during an Orange weather warning.
