Blackwater Open Farm

Nature & Animals

Blackwater Open Farm is a family-run open farm between the villages of Curracloe and Blackwater in Co. Wexford, and was named Best Family-Friendly Farm Attraction at the Irish Enterprise Awards in 2022. Children get hands-on with bunnies and chicks, meet the farm's larger animals, and can even 'milk' Jessie, a model dairy cow, which is a favourite with younger visitors. Outdoors there's a pedal go-kart track, a climbing frame, a zip line and a newly opened dog adventure playground, while an indoor adventure playground and tractor rides on both indoor and outdoor tracks give options whatever the weather. The whole site is wheelchair and buggy accessible, with free coach and car parking, toilets, baby changing facilities, and indoor and outdoor picnic areas for bringing your own food. When it's open, The Garden Café serves food on site as a seasonal option. Opening is weekends and bank holidays through spring, expanding to daily opening over Easter and from July through August. It's a straightforward, well-equipped day out for families in the sunny south-east, easily combined with nearby Curracloe beach.

Saturday, Sunday · March-June & September: Saturdays, Sundays & bank holidays, 10:30am-5pm. Easter holidays & July-August: open daily, 10:30am-5pm.
