About Samhain Festival at VISUAL and Carlow Libraries
Samhain Festival 26 is Carlow's county arts festival for Halloween, run by VISUAL with Carlow's libraries. For families the highlight is the Family Fun Day at VISUAL, with a scavenger hunt, stories, drop-in art and a free strawcraft session, while library sessions include a reptile show, an art camp, kids' cooking and clay monsters.
The festival runs from 22 October to 1 November 2026, and the Family Fun Day is on 25 October from 14:00 to 17:00. The daytime family activities are free; some evening shows are for adults and ticketed.
