About Railway Union Hockey Club

Railway Union Hockey Club, on Park Avenue in Sandymount, runs a junior section open to boys aged 5 and up and girls from 1st class (age 7 and up). The club has long been known within Irish hockey circles as "the family club", reflecting its focus on community as much as competition.

Junior sessions emphasise playing the game the right way, with respect, teamwork and enjoyment given equal weight to skill development. The aim is to build a genuine, lasting love of hockey rather than pushing young players too hard too soon.

For families in the Sandymount area looking for a supportive first introduction to hockey, Railway Union's junior section offers a well-established, community-minded option.
