About Nana's Playroom
Nana's Playroom takes a child-led, messy-play approach to sensory sessions, laying out open-ended materials and letting children from around six months to four years explore however they choose - the idea being that there's no wrong way to play, only room for imagination to lead. The main sessions run at Ballinlough Community Centre, Cork, every Sunday from 9.30 to 10.30am, with an additional class held at Dramarama in Mount Oval, Rochestown.
Parents or carers stay and supervise throughout, and are encouraged to join in the mess rather than watch from the sidelines - it's designed as much as a bonding experience for the adult as for the child. Since sessions involve water, paint and similar materials, a spare outfit is a good idea.
