About Child Vision

ChildVision, based on Grace Park Road in Drumcondra, is Ireland's only facility solely dedicated to the education and therapy needs of blind and multi-disabled children. Its equine therapy programme uses horsemanship to support children and adults with physical, sensory, mental health and intellectual disabilities, helping build confidence, coordination and general wellbeing.

Sessions last either 30 minutes or an hour and run in group blocks, with places allocated following an assessment by ChildVision's occupational therapist. Horse riding here is primarily a therapeutic service rather than a general lesson programme, so only a limited number of places are open to the public — families interested should get in touch to check current availability and the assessment process.
