A 300-acre working farm in the Boyne Valley near Navan, Causey Farm swaps museum-style exhibits for genuine hands-on farm activities led by the same family that has run the land for generations. On family event days, such as their Easter, Halloween and Christmas experiences, kids get stuck into traditional Irish farm life: mixing and baking their own brown bread, learning a few steps of céilí dancing, having a go on the bodhrán, and meeting sheepdogs as they work the flock, alongside seasonal touches like the Halloween Pooka Spooka trail and springtime lambing activities. Everything is designed to be participatory rather than watched from behind a rope, so children leave having actually made something or tried a skill themselves.
